CALL FOR ABSTRACTS – extended deadline

Allow us to introduce ourselves: we are Mafalda Teixeira and Miguel Tedéu, Medical students from NOVA Medical School | Faculdade de Ciências Médicas, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NMS|FCM) in Lisbon, Portugal, and we are the Coordinators of the Innovate Competition, an iMed Conference 16.0 competition.

The Innovate Competition is a competition for Undergraduate and Master’s degree students in the Life Sciences field, integrated into research groups, who are challenged to present their current project before a prestigious jury. The project can either be Basic or Translational Research.

The participants may enrol individually or in pairs. However, only one will be allowed to orally present the project.

The abstracts selected by the jury will be presented during the iMed Conference® 16.0, which will take place in Lisbon, on October 4th (to be confirmed).

AWARD: The winning projects within the two categories of the competition – Basic and Translational Research – will be awarded a Research Grant (the value of the grant is yet to be disclosed).

The Principal Investigator’s Lab responsible for the research project must support the candidate’s application through a Letter of Recommendation and by committing to support the development of the candidate’s project.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: February 23rd to April 26th, 2024

HOW TO APPLY:

Submit the following documents here, until May 6th, 11:59 pm:

  1. Abstract (based on the results obtained with your research project, and following the Abstract Template available on the Rules of Procedure of the competition);
  2. Proof of High Education Enrolment (School Year 2023/2024);
  3. Annexes (Letter of Recommendation; Term of Responsibility; Informed Consent; Declaration of Conflicts of Interest);
  4. Participant’s Personal Contact (phone number).
